How to send your submissions from a non-Gmail address

Updated over 3 months ago

Repunzel™ uses Google's mail service to send emails through your Gmail account but we understand that not everyone has a Gmail account as their primary email address.

The instructions below describe how to link your non-Gmail address (@yahoo.com, @outlook.com, @icloud.com) to a new or existing Gmail address so you can send your submission from your non-Gmail address:

  1. Create a new Gmail address or login with an existing Gmail address. (Don't worry, you will not be sending through this address so you can give it whatever username you want.)

  2. Go to your Gmail Settings by clicking on the gear icon ⚙️ and then click on "See all settings".

  3. Under the Accounts tab you should see a setting called "Check Mail from other Accounts".

  4. Click "Add a mail account" and add your non-Gmail email address using Gmailify.

  5. It will ask you to login and ask permission for Gmail to access your non-Gmail account. Approve all these.

  6. Once that's done, verify that the non-Gmail account shows up in your Gmail settings under the "Check mail from other accounts" section of the Accounts tab and the "Send mail as" section.

  7. Then, go to app.repunzel.com and login with your non-Gmail account.

  8. Send yourself a test email. You should see that your email was sent by your non-Gmail address.
